A LOT of animals are in trouble all over delhi at any given point of time...volunteers and resources for organisations like Fr and jeev are really limited.

message from aleeya...big help
i got your message about people complaining about not being able to get their pets adopted. since i've been there myself, i thought i'd share with you a few things that might help.
firstly, most people tend to put their posters up in places like khan market, but the thing is that most people who go to khan market are middle-class or upper middle-class, and thus usually very breed conscious. so i'd suggest putting up a bunch of posters in more local markets in colonies, etc. secondly, what worked for me was actually taking the pups in a comfortable, pretty basket, to a busy market, with a big banner saying 'adopt me' or something of the sort. both the pups i took, found homes within an hour. of course you'll need to get contact details from the adopters and make sure they're not being fickle..
hope this helps!"
thanks aleeya

Disha
Joining....
Nai Disha and Jamghat...
will soon update on the same.
Nai Disha (plz refer to the link above)
Nai Disha's primary objective is to provide free education to children whose families cannot afford to send them to school - and to have them inculcated into mainstream schools after class 5. In this regard, we are continually striving to improve the quality of students. And provide financial sponsored students who pursue further studies.
Arranging for computer classes is a step in this direction - since it has been found that other schools expect this expertise from students while enrolling them in class 6.
However, not all students end up pursuing education when they leave school. This is a problem we are constantly trying to address. One idea has been to introduce some sort of vocational training - like plumbing, which is highly in demand and pays well.
One such step already in place is to hold sewing classes.
An important thing is to keep reminding us that these are children - and honestly, all they want to do is play. Extracurricular activities include holding dancing classes, arranging plays and the like.

GOOD NEWS
(from a pet lover) -- felt like putting it up here as well
Friends,
I have some wonderful news, the best. My prayers have been answered! Romeo's owner messaged me earlier this evening to say that he is going to keep him after all. He's hired someone to be with him while he's at work so there will always be someone at home with the dog. It's not easy to abandon a companion of eight years, is it? Old Simba's been with me for only two and a half and I can't imagine life without him. Oh, I'm so relieved, I'm sure I'll sleep well tonight! Thank you all for your encouragement and support, I am so very grateful.
Warm regards,
Madhu Goyal
Great People! Thanks! :) God Bless!
